Know More Hepatitis Campaign

DVH released a new phase of the Know More Hepatitis campaign.  New resources including video PSAs, an infographic, and posters are available for you to use in your work to encourage hepatitis C testing among baby boomers.   Spread the word about these new materials by sharing the link to the campaign resources. Here are 10 ways you can use the campaign materials to encourage testing for Hepatitis C.

Action for Health Justice Report

USPSTF Finalizes HepB Recommendations

May 26, 2014

We.Did.ItOn Monday, May 26th, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (Task Force) published its final recommendation statement on screening for hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in individuals at high risk. This recommendation includes adults and adolescents who are not pregnant and who have not been vaccinated, as well as other individuals at high risk for infection. [Read more…]

Youth Smoking Rate

The Chicago Dept of Public Health reports that new CDC data shows that smoking among CPS high school students is down. According to Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance (YRBS) data, in 2013, 10.7% of high school students smoked a cigarette within the last 30 days. [Read more…]

HHS Viral Hepatitis Action Plan

Building on the success of the nation’s first comprehensive cross-agency action plan, released in 2011, Combating the Silent Epidemic of Viral Hepatitis: Action Plan for the Prevention, Care, & Treatment of Viral Hepatitis, the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS), Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Justice (DOJ), and Veterans Affairs (VA) released a 3-year update of the plan in April 2014.
