Program Coordinator (full-time)
Program Description
The Asian Health Coalition (AHC) is looking for a full-time Program Coordinator to join their Substance Abuse Prevention Program. The Substance Abuse Prevention Program (SAPP) works with many organizations and partners throughout Chicago communities to address a comprehensive set of substance abuse issues at the environmental level with culturally competent approaches. We are currently looking for a Program Coordinator with a graduate degree in public health to join our Substance Abuse Prevention Program which includes the Coalition for Asian Substance Abuse Prevention (CASAP), and for the Uptown Coalition for a Healthier Community (UCHC).
SAPP is one of many program offered by the Asian Health Coalition, a non-profit, community-based organization with a mission is to improve the health and well being of Asian American and Pacific Islanders through advocacy, technical assistance, public education and community-based research.

Position Description
This individual will be responsible for overseeing the daily administration of assigned prevention strategies to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established qualifications, schedules, and budgets. Assists in providing reports and meeting other requirements of the program’s funding agencies. This role will work in a team environment along with coalition partners including community-based organizations, universities, hospitals, businesses, law enforcement, and schools in Chicago’s South Chinatown and Uptown neighborhoods
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and distribute culturally and linguistically appropriate media campaign materials to the communities
- Participate in community outreach, engagement, and recruitment activities, as well as present at meetings with schools, community-based organizations, and other partners
- Engage youth in empowerment activities related to adolescent substance abuse prevention
- Assist in the development of research activities such as developing data collection instruments, and participate in the collection, entry, and analyses of community assessment and evaluation data
- Plan and coordinate events including town hall forums, press conferences and coalition meetings
