Asian Health Coalition Organizational Change
The Asian Health Coalition of Illinois (AHCI) announced that it has hired a new Director of Programs to oversee all of its existing programs and to assist the executive director in implementing AHCI’s strategy to enhance its leadership and voice in the Asian and Pacific Islander American communities in the Chicago land areas and beyond.
Dr. Woznica has over twenty-five years’ experience in community health education, culturally and linguistically-appropriate health outreach, and program management. As the previous associate director of a refugee health education program in the Uptown area, she has worked closely with numerous Asian community partners to establish health education and programmatic outreach to vulnerable populations and in the development of low-literacy, culturally appropriate interventions. She also has a strong background in pandemic flu and emergency preparedness for immigrant and refugee populations. Dr. Woznica’s experience in program design, community-based research and coalition leadership makes her uniquely qualified to oversee all of AHCI’s existing and future programs.
Marsha Ross-Jackson, JD, MPA, Interim Executive Director of AHCI, said “we are so excited to have Celine as a member of our team. We are certain that her education and experience in Public Health, as well as her strong, positive relationships with leaders in the Asian American and other minority communities, will help AHCI continue to be a catalyst for change and improve the health of Asian Americans in Chicago and beyond.
