Dr. Manasi Jayaprakash, MD, MPH | Program Operations Director
Manasi is from the Southern part of India with a specialization in community medicine. She obtained her Master’s in Public Health - Health Policy and Management from Emory University in Atlanta. Very early on during medical school, Manasi developed a passion to work in the public health sphere and pursued residency in community medicine to be able to impact the upstream determinants that have the maximal impact on health. She graduated from residency with honors in 2010. Her focus has moved from clinical medicine to public health with a focus on strengthening community health systems and community-based organizations to deliver highest quality of preventive care.
She has been in Chicago since 2012, and her work has spanned from community-based participatory research to providing quality improvement technical assistance to community health centers that included facilitating patient-centered medical home transformation. Her other areas of work have been around translating evidence to practice at community-based organizations and federally qualified health centers.
Manasi currently serves as the Program Operations Director, and directs the implementation of programs funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to increase colorectal cancer screening rates with community health centers. In addition, she provides support in implementing other programs, writing grants, and developing collaborations. During her free time, she volunteers at a free clinic to educate South Asian patients to eat healthy to manage their cardiovascular and diabetes burden.
