Chieko Maene, MS | Public Health Research Specialist

Chieko is a research specialist, and has participated in the development and coordination of analytic activities in the social sciences and public health fields for the past seven years. She is responsible for managing and processing data, conducting statistical analysis using open source or proprietary software, as well as communicating and presenting the analytic results in various formats. She also specializes in geographical analysis. Chieko obtained a Master of Science in Urban Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2002.

Chieko has always been fascinated by health issues and medical mysteries, but she chose to work in public health because she is an even bigger fan of using data to tell real health stories of real people.

Fun fact about her: she is from a large family, which is very unusual in Japan. You will have to ask her how many siblings she has when you meet her in person.
